Where we are…
We are an oasis for the weary traveller and regularly play host to walkers who call in and refresh themselves after a trek around the surrounding countryside.
There are many walks available in the locality. Don’t forget to close all gates behind you. And always take care near water!
Out & About
There are many places of interest in Cheshire West & Chester and the surrounding areas.
There are some good walks that can begin and end at the pub, or you could start elsewhere and call at the Leigh for some refreshment along the way perhaps?
Perhaps you are planning a day trip by road? We are located on the main A49 trunk road about ten minutes (heading south toward Whitchurch) from junction ten of the M56 motorway. There are plenty of places to visit just a short drive from us.
The world famous Anderton Boat Lift is a short ride away by car. This connects the River Weaver and the Trent & Mersey Canal via a masterpiece of engineering first completed in 1875. The lift closed in 1983 as it fell into disrepair, but has now been restored to its former glory and a new visitor centre compliments the restoration work.
